How I Did Airfare, hotel and car for Hawaii: $171.59 Per Person

With the benefit of the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, I was pretty much able to score roundtrip tickets with the exception of paying $11.20 for taxes.
Airfare:
One of Chase’s partners is Air France. When I searched award travel on AirFrance.com, I saw round trip tickets for 30,000 points + $11.20 for taxes per person. The flight is actually operated by Delta since they are SkyTeam partners. Retail value of this ticket: $649.00. Total savings (for 2 people: $1,275.60)
Hotel:
Aston Waikiki Circle Hotel $152/night
I’m a loyal member of hotels.com. They have a great program where if you spend 10 nights, you get 1 night free (amount = average of the 10 nights) I used 3 nights for my stay and my balance was $170.77. Total savings: $382.34
Car Rental:
I just rented a car through Hertz. Total is $150.00 and I didn’t want to use any points because it was cheap enough.
So if you calculate, the total spend for airfare, hotel and car rental (the boyfriend and I are splitting costs for hotel/car rental) is a whopping $171.59.
Total Savings for 2 people: $1,657.94. But then of course, how much you spend there depends on what tours you want to do and what restaurants you want to eat at.
